Perimenopause and Menopause Support

Every woman will experience perimenopause and menopause, but these stages are felt differently across cultures. During this time, many women face a rollercoaster of emotions that can overwhelm their lives, leading to depression, anxiety, sleep issues, overeating, weight gain, and other symptoms. This emotional turmoil, coupled with the loss of identity and the challenges of aging, can be deeply traumatic, leading to a profound sense of loss.

How We Will Help

Our grief psychoeducational and support groups are specifically designed for women navigating the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. We offer:

Psychoeducation: Providing information and understanding about the emotional, physical, and traumatic changes during perimenopause and menopause.

Emotional Support: Helping you navigate the emotional and traumatic challenges, embrace this new stage of life, and provide the resources and guidance needed to cope with these changes.

Strength and Resilience: Together, we help you find strength, resilience, and a renewed sense of self as you move into your wise woman phase, reclaiming your identity with newfound wisdom and empowerment.

By focusing on achievements and shared experiences, we foster a supportive community that helps women navigate emotional and physical symptoms, process trauma, reclaim their identity, and embrace the wisdom of their Crone"s transition during this transformative phase of their lives.

Dementia Support

Dementia, characterized by progressive cognitive decline, not only challenges individuals’ ability to function independently but also strips away their sense of identity and autonomy. Statistics reveal staggering impacts, with 40% experiencing severe cognitive impairment, 31% showing signs of depression, and 82% needing daily assistance (Canadian Institute for Health Information, 2018). For families, witnessing a loved one’s transformation due to dementia can be profoundly grief-inducing, as they grapple with the loss of the person they once knew and the challenges of caregiving. In Canadian long-term care homes from 2015 to 2016, 69% of seniors lived with dementia, highlighting its widespread impact on families and communities. To support families facing these challenges, we employ the Tree of Life narrative approach. This method not only helps individuals with dementia reconnect with positive memories and emotions but also provides families with a framework to celebrate their loved ones’ strengths amidst the profound grief and caregiving burdens associated with dementia.
